about

I wrote this song in about 1998 after I'd met Splitting the Sky and some of the Ts'Peten Sundancers. Gustafsen Lake is a black mark on Canada's history. In terms of rounds fired it was the largest military operation ever mounted on Canadian soil...to break up a peaceful gathering of people reclaiming their traditions.

It's about strength and resilience, and the fact that, just as in nature, the strongest people are the ones who can bend without breaking.
